The Primary Health 4 Life programme is a 90 minute workshop targeted towards P6 to P7 pupils.

The aim of the programme is to introduce primary school pupils to health and well-being while engaging them in the concepts of being proactive in leading balanced and healthy lifestyles. Pupils will increase understanding of the relationship between mental and physical health and the circular effect through taking part in various interactive group activities. The Learning & Development objectives are:

• Identifying and understanding of different aspects of health through our fictional case study: ‘Stanley’
• Ability to identify the various ways in which ‘Stanley’ can improve his health and well-being
• Understanding health information regarding nutrition and exercise (including the ‘eat well plate’)
• Exploring the term “emotional intelligence” and its influences on stress and lifestyle
• Investigating the term “self-esteem” and how to identify high and low self esteem
• Understand the difficulties of keeping fit whilst carrying additional weight
• Awareness of examples of exercise that can be undertaken at home
• Understand the relationship between self-esteem and physical health and lifestyle
• Understand the lifestyle requirements of a fit and healthy person – in contrast to ‘Stanley’

eye4education makes every educational programme a bespoke event based on the special requirements and the abilities of the pupils. We can also pre and post-test all pupils participating in the programme to produce a detailed report outlining changes in behaviour, skills, knowledge and attitude.
